Flierwire

The fee-based posting service--designed primarily to provide access to press releases and other materials describing transaction details--is headed by Gerald D. Schein. Schein is a 40-year veteran of the real estate publishing industry who was at the helm of Real Estate Media's predecessor organization. Under his watch, the firm created several ground-breaking industry publications including Real Estate Forum and Real Estate New York.

Schein says that real estate-industry sources all over the world can now post their deals, company information and accomplishments online and in a place where others can search for it easily. "Flierwire is designed to add yet another platform for publicity placement," says Schein. "The more information you can get on market activity the better is your ability to make informed decisions."

"Frankly, press releases, signed, printed and approved, are typically too late for our needs," states Michael G. Desiato, editorial director of GlobeSt.com and group managing director of Real Estate Media, pointing out that GlobeSt.com is devoted to breaking news on a daily basis. "Given the new online technologies we've been able to line up," he says, "Flierwire closes that information loop and levels the playing field for firms that have important announcements but might not make the editorial cut on GlobeSt.com."
