The ULI meeting will feature five general sessions, 43 council meetings with 2,200 members, a full-day ULI/Stan Ross Real Estate Trends Conference and more than 50 concurrent sessions. Included in the roster of keynote speakers is former President Bill Clinton, speaking on A Global Outlook in the Wake of the Presidential Election, and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, speaking on Leading for Today and Tomorrow.ULI and NAREE have also scheduled three joint media briefings. The first briefing will be with ULI chairman Harry Frampton, who will discuss his views on smart growth. The second briefing will address the joint ULI/PricewaterhouseCoopers' report, Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2005, which will be released to the media immediately before the opening of Real Estate Trends Day. The third briefing will be with affordable-housing developer Richard Baron, the 2004 recipient of ULI's J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development.

Real Estate Trends Day will also bring Meet the Press-Turning the Tables: Insights from Real Estate Editors and Writers. The event will feature, among others, NAREE president Michael Desiato, editor-in-chief of Real Estate Media, GlobeSt.com's parent company.

NAREE's fall meeting also includes a tour of the Time Warner Center, which held its grand opening in February. During the group's awards dinner, new board members will be elected and installed, Kimball adds. Desiato, who Kimball describes as "a tremendous force in NAREE," will serve as chairman of the board next year.
