Produce Supplier Delivers 80,496-SF Lease

HOUSTON-DiMare Fresh Inc. commits to a five-year stay at 1415 West Loop, a rail-served facility with 47,000 sf of refrigerated space that will be used primarily to distribute bananas, tomatoes and avocadoes.

HOUSTON-DiMare Fresh Inc. has established a packing and distribution location in the Bayou City after serving the area from its main facility in North Texas. The produce supplier has signed a five-year lease for 80,496 sf at 1415 West Loop.

The single-story facility is rail-served and has 47,000 sf of refrigerated space. “We looked around for six months before DiMare leased this space,” says Doug Nicholson, a senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis Co., who represented DiMare Fresh in the deal. “There’s just not a lot of refrigerated space in Houston…usually if you need ityou just build it yourself because of the specific criteria.”

However, the 23-year-old facility suits DiMare Fresh just fine, Nicholson says. In addition to the rail service and refrigerated space, the dock-high facility’s parking lot can hold 25 trucks and has a loading capacity of 100 trailers. First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. of Chicago, represented by in-house broker Brock Wilson, owns the building.
