MAYNARD, MA-A special town meeting will be held to decide whether a developer can receive special tax incentives that will enable him to revive the ailing Metrowest Technology Park, a 55-acre property at 129 Parker St. A representative of the town tells GlobeSt.com that the developer, John Wolters, wants to enroll the property in the state’s Tax Increment Financing program, which would help him attract tenants by being able to pass on benefits of a tax break.

The three-building park was once home to Digital Equipment Corp. but the computer company left in the 1990s. While the park has had tenants occupy its space over the past few years, it is currently vacant. The town representative says that the tax break requires approval by Town Meeting and then the state must gives its own stamp of approval.
