The building will replace a leased facility at 2785 White Bear Ave. Judges had security and space concerns about the old space.
The county and courts worked together to design a state-of-the-art facility. Kraus-Anderson Construction Co. won the contract to build the facility. Completion is expected by Aug. 1. The county now pays about $167,000 annually to lease the space it uses.
Work on the new building is expected to begin this month.
