Zukey Lake Tavern Expands to Meet Growth

HAMBURG TOWNSHIP, MI-A popular Livingston County eatery will double in size to 14,000 sf to keep up with a population that has grown to 20,627, according to the 2000 census.

HAMBURG TOWNSHIP, MI-The Zukey Lake Tavern, a popular eatery in growing Livingston County, will double in size to 14,000 sf. Zukey Lake Tavern overlooks Zukey Lake on Gerard Street, off M-36.

The establishment opened as a grocery store and tavern decades ago, says Rick Glazer, co-owner of the restaurant. “I believe it came into existence just after Prohibition,” he adds. Glazer and his partner, Chuck Plante, bought the establishment 25 years ago.
