MARLBORO TWP., NJ-Home Depot has signed a lease for 114,000 sf at Cambridge Square here. The 233,000-sf shopping center is owned by Garden Commercial Properties, a subsidiary of Garden Homes of Short Hills, NJ.

The home improvement chain will take over an anchor position that formerly housed a Kmart department store, according to Scott Loventhal, director of development for Garden Commercial Properties. Home Depot joins a tenant roster that includes a Shop-Rite supermarket, Blockbuster Video and TGI Friday's.

"Home Depot was searching for an established retail location that offered space in which they could introduce one of their popular 'do-it-yourself' retail stores," Loventhal says. "The anchor building vacated by Kmart at Cambridge Square was the perfect opportunity.
