The 42,480-sf office building at 3816 N. 27th Ave., built in 1980, will be one of five campuses for the four-year-old charter school for grades nine through 12. "The building was a perfect fit for Career Success because of its open areas and offices," says Pat Harlan of Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona Inc. who represented the ProLogis. Steve Sayre and Lindsay Erickson, also with C&W, partnered with Harlan.

Harlan tells GlobeSt.com that ProLogis put Black Canyon Business Center on the market about two years ago. "This product is not a core specialty of ProLogis and that's the reason why they wanted to shed this asset," he says.

The building, which was completely empty, did not garner a lot of interest until Career Success came along. "There hasn't been a lot of demand for owner-users for office space," Harlan says.

Loren Vaughn of Scott/Forbes Consulting & Brokerage represented the buyer. Career Success received acquisition financing from a private investor.
