Charter School Pays $2M for Fifth Valley Location

PHOENIX-Career Success High School picks up the Black Canyon Business Center at 3816 N. 27th Ave. for $1.7 million from ProLogis. The empty 32,480-sf building has been on the market two years.

PHOENIX-In a move designed to meet student demand, Career Success High School has acquired Black Canyon Business Center for $1.7 million from Denver-based ProLogis Realty Trust.

The 42,480-sf office building at 3816 N. 27th Ave., built in 1980, will be one of five campuses for the four-year-old charter school for grades nine through 12. “The building was a perfect fit for Career Success because of its open areas and offices,” says Pat Harlan of Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona Inc. who represented the ProLogis. Steve Sayre and Lindsay Erickson, also with C&W, partnered with Harlan.

Harlan tells GlobeSt.com that ProLogis put Black Canyon Business Center on the market about two years ago. “This product is not a core specialty of ProLogis and that’s the reason why they wanted to shed this asset,” he says.
