GLENDALE, NY-Regal Cinemas signed on to be the entertainment anchor for New York City's first lifestyle center, the Shops at Atlas Park. Regal inked a 15-year, 32,500-sf deal for an eight-screen theatre with all-stadium seating for 1,641. Space in the center is priced at between $45 per sf and $100 per sf.

"In addition to Regal Cinemas, we look forward to bringing other spectacular retailers to the Shops at Atlas Park, and are currently in advanced discussions with several well-known names that have never before had a presence in Queens," says Damon Hemmerdinger, the project's development director. GlobeSt.com learned that 54,000 sf of space is currently in negotiation and that a quarter of the center's space is either in negotiation or already signed on.

Last December, the first phase of preleasing snagged such names as Coldwater Creek, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon, Jos. A. Bank and Mitchell's Fish Market. Located at 8000 Cooper Avenue, at the intersection of 80th Street, Atlas Park will consist of eight buildings housing retail and office space. In total, the site will feature 60 stores, restaurants, offices, and services and will sit on a 12-acre tract of land surrounding the 2.5-acre Ellipse Park. The project also encompasses two other outdoor public spaces and a 1,000-sf café pavillion.
