Apple Store Debuts in Europe

LONDON-The computer maker opens its first store in Europe as it continues its US expansion.

LONDON-Apple Stores is made its European debut over the weekend, opening its first European store here. The Apple Store Regent Street will open in the city’s West End shopping district and bring the computer company’s total number of units to 99 internationally.

Apple may have more plans to expand in Europe. Local news reports say the company intends to open stores in the British cities of Birmingham and Kent. Company officials could not be reached for comment on their European expansion goals.

The two-floor London store will include a 64-seat theater, a children’s section with eight computers and a customer service area the retailer is dubbing The Studio. Over 250 customer events will take place at the store during the first month after its opening.
