GRANDVILLE, MI-A 20,388-sf Staples Superstore will open in the Century Center at the corner of Ivanrest Avenue and Century Center Street in this west Michigan town. Robert G. Lotzar, with CB Richard Ellis, negotiated the lease terms on behalf of Daane's Development, the owner and developer of Century Center.
The new Staples, slated to open in June 2005, is the first of three new store locations scheduled to open in the Grand Rapids market. The 110,000-sf Century Center is located in the main retail corridor of Grandville, adjacent to the Rivertown Crossings Mall and a new 240,000-sf Meijer store.
Daane's Development says the signing of a well-known national retail tenant like Staples is a shot in the arm for future development within the center. "We were pleased to attract a well-known and credited national tenant for this project," Lotzar says. "Through dedication, persistence and diligence we have set in motion a transaction that will benefit Staples, Century Center and the community of Grandville."
