The property is currently undergoing an expansion and upgrade procedure, courtesy of owner the Cohen Cos., which will leave the center with a total of 100,000 sf of retail offerings. Outdoor sporting goods store REI has moved into a 26,000-sf anchor space, while StoreHouse Furniture has consolidated two of its area locations into one 15,000-sf space.

KLNB Retail's Bob Morris, who is handling leasing at the Shops along with colleague Phil Ruxton, tells GlobeSt.com that the prime class A space is being marketed for $50 to $60 per sf and that redevelopment of the retail property will reach completion during the first quarter of 2005.

"Few centers in the Washington, DC region can match the density and demographics of this center, and Rockville Pike is recognized nationally as the major venue for any retailer entering or expanding into this market," Ruxton says.
