Arlington Hospitality in Market for New Boss

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL-The largest owner and operator of AmeriHost Inn hotels will likely conduct a national search to land a replacement for president and chief executive officer Jerry H. Herman, who leaves after two years.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL-Citing a long commute from Washington, DC and an inability to relocate, Jerry H. Herman is stepping down as Arlington Hospitality, Inc.’s president and chief executive officer at the end of the year. However, he has already relinquished a seat on the company’s board of directors.

The hotel company’s board has formed a committee to find a new chief executive, and is likely to hire a search firm, says chairman Kenneth M. Fell. Herman steps down after two years at the helm of Arlington Hospitality, the largest owner and operator of AmeriHost Inn hotels. The veteran of more than 20 years of hotel industry experienced replaced Michael P. Holtz, who was forced out in late 2002 after a change in the makeup of the company’s board of directors.
