Wade Kilpatrick, who used to handle apartment acquisitions in addition to commercial acquisitions, will now focus solely on commercial acquisitions, says Marc Goldstein, principal and co-founder of Creekstone Partners, which specializes in the acquisition and management of class A multifamily and commercial real estate assets throughout the country. "There was just too much work for Wade," Goldstein says. "Jeb is a young, energetic guy with some great experience who understands multifamily."

Cox will be responsible for identifying and analyzing markets and potential multifamily acquisitions as well as negotiating and managing closing activities. "We've put a lot of responsibility on him," Goldstein says, pointing out Creekstone Partners will end the year with $400 million of apartment acquisitions and has another $200 million set to close in 2005. "Jeb's biggest challenge is going to be to continue forging relationships with strategic partners and developers nationwide," he says.

"We wish Jeb well," says Will Penland, senior managing director of the Houston office for CBRE. "He left to pursue an opportunity that is a little bit different from brokerage." He adds the brokerage firm has not yet decided whether or not it will replace Cox orif it will re-allocate the responsibilities to other team members. In addition to his CBRE experience, Cox was a project analyst with Trammell Crow Residential.
