The firm on the move, Miller Shakman & Hamilton, is not changing landlords. The 15-lawyer firm will move four blocks north in April from 208 S. LaSalle St. to 180 N. LaSalle St., two buildings owned by Prime Group Realty Trust.
"It was a win-win situation, says Studley senior managing director Lisa Davidson, who represented the law firm with director and branch manager John Goodman. "Prime Group retained a reputable tenant and Miller Shakman & Hamilton was able to move into more updated and efficient office space." Cogan McNabola & Dolan doubled its size at 55 W. Wacker Dr. to 14,336 sf in a renewal with Lincoln Properties and RREEF America REIT Corp. "Although we looked elsewhere in the market, 55 West Wacker provided an aggressive package that ultimately led to the firm's renewal and expansion," says MB Real Estate senior vice president Andrew Davidson, who represented Cogan McNabola & Dolan in negotiations with Fritz Schaupp of Lincoln Properties.
Chittenden Murday & Novotny, which had been subleasing space formerly occupied by Kelley Drye & Warren, opted to sign a direct deal for 12,300 sf with SP 303 West Madison, LLC. Despite plenty of options, the building's location and a tenant improvement package prompted the law firm to stay put, says Davidson, who handled negotiations with Kim Robare from CB Richard Ellis. "The 303 W. Madison space is unique in that the building has floor plates that allow Chittenden Murday & Novotny to have a full-floor presence," she adds.
