Law Firms Strike Deals With Current Owners

CHICAGO-Of the three law firms signing deals totaling nearly 42,000 sf, two will stay in their current locations while a third will move from one building owned by Prime Group Realty Trust to another in the REIT's portfolio

CHICAGO-Law firms, which have helped propel more than one Downtown office development, continue to play a significant role in the leasing market. Two law firms are staying in their current space, while another is on the move in deals totaling nearly 42,000 sf.

The firm on the move, Miller Shakman & Hamilton, is not changing landlords. The 15-lawyer firm will move four blocks north in April from 208 S. LaSalle St. to 180 N. LaSalle St., two buildings owned by Prime Group Realty Trust.

“It was a win-win situation, says Studley senior managing director Lisa Davidson, who represented the law firm with director and branch manager John Goodman. “Prime Group retained a reputable tenant and Miller Shakman & Hamilton was able to move into more updated and efficient office space.” Anita Pallardy handled negotiations for Prime Group Realty Trust.
