The two-story project, Independence Plaza, has an estimated cost of $7 million, says Tom Kimsey, vice president and regional manager of Voit Development's Phoenix office. "There's very little commercial land left and there's no other office space available right now. It's all leased," he says.
Kimsey tells GlobeSt.com that Voit has received quite a bit of interest on the building, which is scheduled to break ground in the spring. Independence Plaza will be ready to occupy in November or December 2005.
Located at the southwest corner of Venture Drive and Anthem Way, Independence Plaza boasts a key location, Kimsey says. "It's right at the main entry to the Anthem community," he says.
Trammell Crow Co.'s Phoenix team of Pat Devine, Jerry Noble, Greg Mayer and Michasel Kitlica will market the building. Kimsey says the structure, divisible to a 1,000-sf minimum, will be marketed at a $28 per sf, full-service rate.
Phoenix-based DFD Cornoyer Hedrick Architects designed Independence Plaza. Valley Commercial Contractors, also from Phoenix, is the general contractor.
Independence Plaza is Voit's second project in Anthem. It also developed Desert North Commerce Park I and II, a four-building, 100,000-sf, office and retail project along North 41st Drive near Interstate 17.
