Lapeer Metal Launches $5M Expansion

SEBEWAING, MI-A Tier One auto supplier moves into a vacant 375,000-sf industrial facility here thanks to a $1.2-million grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to help the village pay for infrastructure improvements.

SEBEWAING, MI-Lapeer Metal Stamping has begun a $5-million expansion of its operations. The company is moving into a 375,000-sf former Tower Automotive facility in this Michigan Thumb community.

The expansion is expected to create 150 new jobs. Lapeer Metal Stamping is a Tier One supplier of high-quality metal stampings and assemblies for the automotive industry.

The Michigan Economic Development Corp. is providing a $1.2-million grant to Sebewaing to help fund infrastructure improvements necessary to support the move. Lapeer Metal already has existing operations nearby in Sebewaing.
