Limelight Networks Inc.'s five-year lease at 2220 and 2250 W. 14th St. is worth more than $1 million, says Curtis Brown, a principal with Phoenix-based Ross Brown Partners Inc. who represented the building owner, Phoenix-based MainSpring Capital Group. Brown was assisted by Rick Collins and Cameron Boyd.

Brown tells GlobeSt.com that Limelight Networks had been a tenant in 2220 W. 14th St. for two years when the firm realized it needed to expand. Limelight Networks houses a network operations center, the backbone of its digital delivery network, at the 2220 building and will use the 2250 building to house collaborative customer projects as well as expanding the sales force.

"Being close to the operations center was very important," Brown explains. He adds that the buildings are connected underground by a conduit, which means "it's like being in the same building" from an infrastructure standpoint.

The two freestanding buildings, developed in 1986 as industrial buildings, are part of a four-building project that is fully occupied. The buildings have evolved into office uses, Brown says.

Limelight Networks provides digital delivery solutions that include live and on demand streaming media, content delivery, co-location, and Tier-1+ bandwidth services. An in-house representative handled the negotiations.
