Medtronic Considers 820,000-SF Complex

MOUNDS VIEW, MN-The $65-million complex would consist of two complexes on a 118-acre golf course and house Medtronic's cardiac rhythm management division. A deal in neighboring New Brighton has fallen through.

MOUNDS VIEW, MN-Medtronic is talking with city officials about buying its municipal golf course and associated land so it can build a new 820,000-sf complex for one of its divisions. The Fridley-based medical device company detailed the $65-million project before the Mounds View Economic Development Authority, telling city officials the new complex could provide up to 3,000 jobs and be one its largest facilities.

The development would entail two five- or six-story buildings with more buildings possibly added later at the 118-acre site. Previously, city staff had been dealing with Cresa Partners, real estate consultants that often work with Medtronic. But the Mounds View City Council has endorsed direct talks with Medtronic.
