The largest privately-owned supermarket chain in the US, Publix is a dominant player in the Southeast, company officials note. "Publix has long been a solid anchor for us, and we are very happy that they are anchoring this new development for us," says Inland Real Estate Acquisitions senior vice president Lou Quilici, who handed negotiations for the retail REIT with Sharon Anderson-Cox. Tom Keenan represented the seller, Continental 130 Fund, LLC.
Among Inland Western Retail REIT's holdings is the 109,000-sf North Rivers Town Center in nearby Charleston, SC.
