The existing lease for 3011 E. Broadway Rd. was set to expire in 2011, but the early renewal and expansion takes the term through 2016, says Mark Detmer, a vice president with Trammell Crow Co. He and TCC's Bo Mills represented the building owner, ING Clarion Partners of New York City. Detmer tells GlobeSt.com that the lease puts $6.8 million into ING Clarion's till.
"With all the new homes being built and the population growth, there's a lot of demand for home furnishings," Detmer says. "They're opening several new stores as part of their expansion."
The Room Store is an original tenant in the 250,000-sf building, developed in 1999 by Trammell Crow Co. Part of the building previously was occupied by Commercial Linen Exchange, which consolidated its operations to Reno, NV. The Room Store will move into the extra space in March.
