Theodore Sasso serves as president of Affinity; Walter Imperatore is co-founder of the firm. "Long Island is a viable market that continues to grow," Sasso tells GlobeSt.com. "The timing is right. This is a well-integrated business and economic area."

Plans for the Lighthouse include a 60-story structure that will be the tallest building on Long Island, the complete makeover of the Nassau Coliseum, the addition of a 50,000-sf recreation center a conference center. Work on the project is expected to begin in 2006 or 2007 and be completed in 2009. The entire Lighthouse project is expected to take between eight to 10 years to complete.

Industry veterans Sasso and Imperatore renew a working relationship established more than 20 years ago working on such projects as the EAB Plaza in Uniondale and the Fleet Bank headquarters here.
