LEESBURG, VA-The future of the Village at Leesburg, a mixed-use project proposed by developer KSI Services Inc., has been placed in the hands of the Town of Leesburg Department of Planning, Zoning and Development. The local government entity is currently mulling over the rezoning that would have to take place in order to pave the way for the project, which would include nearly 900,000 sf of retail and office space, 130,000 sf for hotel rooms and 630 multifamily units–with a portion of the residences being reserved for seniors.

With eight acres of the parcel located outside of Leesburg city limits, only 150 of the 158 acres–all of which are bound by Route 7, Tuscarora Creek, Route 653 and KSI-owned Goose Creek Golf Course–are at issue here. The Leesburg land is currently zoned for industrial and office use, and the zoning department has rejected rezoning proposals for the same parcel in the past.
