Financial details of the deal with property owner Equity Office Properties Trust have not been revealed, but space above the second floor of the building is marketed for about $39 per sf. HSMM relied on Jon Olmstead and Steve Schaumberg of Cresa Partners and Divaris Real Estate Inc.'s Krista Chappell and Michael B. Divaris for representation. EOP's Jim Potocki handles leasing at the class A property.

Developed in 1986, the 10-story structure is located between the DuPont Circle neighborhood and George Washington University. The relocation, from 1030 15th St. NW, was sparked by the impending development of an adjacent structure that would have ultimately left HSMM void of its view of the city.

"We started the process back in April," Olmstead tells GlobeSt.com. "We looked at several different options, all within the central business district. It came down to two locations, and this one ended up being the best fit." The company's new offices at Three Lafayette Centre will encompass an entire floor at the very top of the building.
