Suburb Approves Zoning for $400M Development

WARREN, MI-Grand Sakwa will begin work this spring on a mixed-use development on 312 acres along Mound Road between 12 Mile and 13 Mile. Anchored by a Meijer's and an office building, completion could be in three years.

WARREN, MI-The city council here has approved a zoning change to clear the way for the largest new development in the city in decades. With the land now rezoned, developers Grand Sakwa say a $400-million project set for the 312 acres along Mound Road between 12 Mile and 13 Mile could be finished in as little three years.

“This is a great relief,” says deputy mayor Mike Greiner. “This has been years coming. In terms of getting this property developed, we’ve been waiting a long time.”
