$403M Terminal To Handle International Traffic

ROMULUS, MI-Demolition of a vacant terminal will clear the way for a new North Terminal with 25 to 27 gates. Completion is scheduled for 2008. It follows construction of a new Midfield Terminal to handle Northwest Airlines traffic.

ROMULUS, MI-The vacant Davey Terminal is slated to be demolished at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The demolition will make way for a planned new $403-million terminal.The airport’s governing board approved the demolition this week. Razing will begin in the spring.

The new North Terminal will feature 25 to 27 gates as well as customs and immigration facilities, allowing international flights to use the terminal. That will allow for the demolition of Berry Terminal, nowused by British Airways, USA 3000 and charter airlines.
