Engineers Probe Vacant 38,000-SF Store

BIRMINGHAM, MI-Construction engineering work is being done at the site of the former Jacobson's building, where Burton-Katzman and Gershenson Realty & Investments plan a four-story mixed-use building.

BIRMINGHAM, MI-Engineering plans are now being worked up for the planned redevelopment of the vacant Jacobson’s store on North Old Woodward in Downtown. Troy-based G2 Consulting Group began geotechnical and construction engineering work on the 38,000-sf building recently.

Bingham Farms-based developer Burton-Katzman and Southfield-based Gershenson Realty & Investments plan a four-story building with first-floor restaurants, two stories of retail and office space, top floor residential lofts, and one level of underground parking.
