Prior to becoming a part of LJ Melody, Dougherty had proven himself a leader in his field at Insignia/ESG Inc.; he became a member of the LJ Melody team following parent company CB Richard Ellis's acquisition of Insignia ESG. Over the course of a nine-year stint at Insignia/ESG--where he held the positions of national director of the Finance & Capital Markets Group and executive managing director of the Capital Advisors Group--Dougherty won the title of top producer at the company eight years in a row.

At LJ Melody, Dougherty oversaw such deals as the $126-million financing package for the development of 1700 K St., a 400,000-sf office building under development by Charles E. Smith Cos. and expected to reach completion this year.
