Sigma, a division of Omaha-based ConAgra Foods, Inc. will move into 2140 S. 7th Ave. in April. The lease is valued at roughly $400,000, says Jeff Conrad, a principal with Lee & Associates Arizona who represented Sigma Foods. "They are opening a distribution hub here in Phoenix to serve the Hispanic grocery stores and customers," Conrad tells GlobeSt.com. Hispanic households in Arizona spend an average $5,648 annually on groceries in comparison to $5,288 by non-Hispanic households, according to locally based Behavior Research Center.

Conrad says Sigma Foods sought a centrally located facility and relatively new space since it plans to install freezers and coolers. The 67,500-sf structure is part of a four-building, 224,308-sf complex, that's now fully leased, Conrad says. Allen Lowe, a principal with Lee & Associates Arizona represented the building owner, Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co.
