Medical Records Warehouse Project Gets Boost

DURAND, MI-A $1-million warehouse is part of the state's effort to create more medical related jobs. Eggers Development LLC will use the building to house a medical records storage services operation.

DURAND, MI-A $1-million building that will warehouse medical records is planned for Durand, which is west of Flint along Interstate 69.Eggers Development LLC will use the building to house a medical records storage services operation.

The Michigan Economic Development Corp. is providing a $200,000 Community Development Block Grant to the city for public improvements to support the construction. “The city of Durand is excited to work with the MEDC to provide critical infrastructure to the Eggersfacility,” Mayor Cameron Canute says. “The city staff and the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership should be recognized for doing an excellent job in ensuring that this project occurs in Shiawassee County.”

Durand will use the money to extend water and sewer lines to the new warehouse, to be located on Durand Road. Durand will contribute an additional $408,000 to support the road improvements and water and sewer extensions.
