SEATTLE-Officespace.com has expanded its coverage into Washington’s Inland Empire. The locally headquartered commercial real estate listing service began providing service to the Greater Spokane region on Feb. 1.Company president John Suryan tells GlobeSt.com he expanded service to the region after being courted by a group of five real estate companies there that were dissatisfied with their existing choices. “They were considering a few different services and one of the guys was a former schoolmate of mine at the University of Washington,” says Suryan. “I made a presentation in October, and they liked what they saw.” When the service launched earlier this month, Suryan says 10 client firms had signed up, “which gets us pretty close to breakeven.”This service will ultimately enable users to search over 500 buildings totaling 20 million sf of rentable space in the Greater Spokane Area. “We have had tremendous support from the local commercial real estate community with our initial data collection efforts and there appears to be a strong demand for our service,” says Suryan.Officespace.com was founded in 1995 by Suryan and Kip Spencer. In addition to Seattle and Spokane, the website keeps data on buildings in Portland, Denver, Cincinnati, Columbus, Minneapolis/St. Paul and São Paulo, Brazil. It’s database holds information on over one billion sf of commercial property.
