Work Starts on Kenyon Square Condos

WASHINGTON, DC-Kenyon Square has moved closer toward realization now that developers have broken ground on the 153-unit mixed-use condominium property. Lead developer Donatelli & Klein is joined by Gragg & Associates and the National Capital Revitalization Corp. in spearheading the project, which will also yield about 21,000 sf of ground-level retail space, as well as underground parking. With construction getting under way immediately following the groundbreaking, the residences will be available for occupancy in two years.

The District’s Columbia Heights neighborhood is home base for Kenyon Square, which occupies what had been a vacant parcel of land on 14th Street right across from a Metro station. When work is completed, the Torti Gallas and Partners-designed multifamily property will offer 20% of its units as affordable housing for households earning 30%, 60% and 80% of the area median income. Ultimately, Kenyon Square will be joined on its parcel by Victory Heights, a 75-unit property set aside as affordable senior housing by developer Victory Housing.
