Maikish Will Head Downtown Construction Command Center

NEW YORK CITY-Charles Maikish, who headed up the reconstruction of the World Trade Center after the 1993 bombing, will serve as executive director of the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center. The center will oversee all construction projects in the area.

NEW YORK CITY-Charles Maikish was named executive director of the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center, which is responsible for coordinating and overseeing Downtown construction projects.

Maikish served as director of the World Trade Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and spearheaded the reconstruction of the World Trade Center Towers after the 1993 terrorist bombings. He was also responsible for the overall management of the World Trade Center and other Port Authority properties, including the operation, marketing, leasing, capital investment program and budgeting.

Maikish is an attorney, an engineer and a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in construction, real estate development, transportation development, and physical facilities maintenance and operations. He currently serves as executive vice president of global real estate business services for JPMorgan Chase and previously was VP of facilities management for Columbia University.
