Westminster Project Grows to 124,000 SF

ST. PAUL-HealthPartner's 31,000-sf outpatient surgery center is a boost for the building, on which Frauenshuh Cos. plans to start construction this spring. The four-story medical office building would house specialty services from Regions and Gillette Children's hospitals, and is being developed in conjunction with the St. Paul Port Authority.

ST. PAUL-HealthPartners will open a 31,000-sf outpatient surgery center at the Westminster Junction Business Center. Construction is expected to get underway this spring near the intersection of Phalen Boulevard and Westminster Avenue.

The St. Paul Port Authority and Frauenshuh Cos., the Bloomington, MN-based developer, are developing the 124,000-sf Westminster project, a four-story building that is also expected to house operations for the Gillette Children’s Hospital. Late last year, the developers said they planned to build a medical office building that might be as large as 90,000 sf.

The building is located on a 5.1-acre site across the Phalen Boulevard where HealthPartners is building a $22-million specialty clinic. The Bloomington-based health care provider announced the project late last year. “The close proximity of the new surgery center to our new specialty center and Regions Hospital also will be convenient for patients and physicians alike,” says Mary Brainerd, HealthPartners president and chief executive officer.
