Stryker Corp. Plans $16M HQ Building

KALAMAZOO, MI-The medical equipment manufacturer says it will build a 75,000-sf headquarters next to its 35,000-sf building leased facility on six acres next to the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.

KALAMAZOO, MI-Medical equipment manufacturer Stryker Corp. says it is staying in its hometown to build a new headquarters. Stryker says it will purchase six acres of land from Kalamazoo County at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport to build a 75,000-sfheadquarters.

Company spokesman Patrick Anderson says that with the cost of the land, the total project should cost between $16 million and $20 million. Stryker had considered a move out of state. Construction of the new Kalamazoo HQ will begin this summer and be completed by summer 2006, Anderson adds.

The Kalamazoo County board of commissioners has already given tentative approval to the land sale. The FAA and the Michigan Department of Transportation must also approve the sale.
