LANSING, MI-A decision on who will be allowed to buy 690 acres of state-owned land near Ann Arbor now appears headed to the Michigan Supreme Court. Stephen McKenney, an attorney for DPG-York LLC, says the firm will contest last week’s Michigan Court of Appeals ruling that would allow the state to sell the land to Toyota, even though Toyota submitted a bid for the property that was $16 million less than DPG’s bid.

The developer will either ask the appeals court to reconsider or appeal directly to the Michigan Supreme Court. Last week, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled the state was within the law in its decision to sell the property in York Township in Washtenaw County to Toyota for $9 million. DPG bid $25 million.
