BALTIMORE-Eastern Plaza, a 77,000-sf shopping center is on target to rise at the former home of the Anchor Fence headquarters off I-95. Manekin LLC's $8-million retail destination will boast a 57,000-sf Shoppers Food Warehouse as its anchor. The grocery store committed to the space under a 20-year lease.

"Eastern Plaza will bring new energy and revitalize the neighborhood," says Dicky Darrell, a Manekin senior sales and leasing associate. "We are taking an old industrial property, located in an Enterprise Zone, and building new retail space that will offer needed services and provide Baltimore City with a higher tax base."

Demolition of the 78-year-old Anchor Fence building has already gotten under way, and construction is on schedule to begin this summer. Assuming all goes as planned Eastern Plaza will open its doors early next year.
