Harris Teeter Coming to the District

WASHINGTON, DC-A new Harris Teeter grocery store will take up occupancy in the vacant Citadel building at Kalorama Rd. and 17th St. NW. The market will make its home in a 38,600-sf space within the 41,000-sf structure, opening its doors to patrons in the fall of 2006.

WASHINGTON, DC-Harris Teeter, the Matthews, NC-based food market, has put in a bid to open up in a Washington, DC location. The grocery store is set to occupy a 38,600-sf space within the Citadel building, a vacant 41,000-sf structure at Kalorama Rd. and 17th St. NW in trendy Adams Morgan. Owned by Douglas Development, the 58-year-old property will be redeveloped by Faison Associates to accommodate the grocery store.
