Sportswear Retailer Relocates HQ

BELTSVILLE, MD-Sports Zone has decided to forsake Montgomery County for Prince George’s County with a relocation of its company headquarters from Beltsville to a 39,500-sf flex/warehouse building it just leased in the Ammendale South Technology Center for $3.5 million. The move provides the athletic footwear and apparel retailer with an additional 20,000 sf in which to house its corporate offices and primary distribution center.

Sports Zone’s lease agreement is with company founder and president Michael Syag, who recently acquired the property from MOR Ammendale LLC in a $3.5 million transaction. Terms of the lease have not been disclosed; however, Manekin LLC had been marketing space in the two-year-old, single-story facility for $10.75 per sf, triple net.
