NEW YORK CITY-Robert K. Futterman & Associates opened a Las Vegas office to coincide with securing the exclusive retail assignment for the under construction 1.7-million-sf Town Square Las Vegas. RKF, which is headquartered here, also plans to open offices in Los Angeles and in Miami later this year.
"Las Vegas is one of the hottest market for retail in the US," explains Robert K. Futterman, CEO. "Many of our clients--retailers and investors alike--have either already entered the market or plan to establish a presence there.
Construction is expected to begin later this year on Turnberry Associates' super-regional lifestyle center. It will be developed at the south end of the Strip at the intersection of Interstates 15 and 215. When complete, Town Square Las Vegas will include retail shops, restaurants, entertainment, a multiplex cinema, office space and a hotel.
RKF has a number of other Las Vegas-area assignments. The firm serves as leasing consultant for Boulevard Invest, the ownership of the 475,000-sf Desert Passage retail and entertainment center. In addition, the company serves as retail leasing consultant for the retail portion of Sky Las Vegas, a luxury 350-unit condominium with approximately 50,000 sf of retail space on three levels. RKF is also exclusive retail leasing agent for a new 15,000-sf Centra Point Retail Center.
Frank Volk, executive vice president, will lead the Las Vegas office, while Jeff Carlis and Randy Aguilar have joined the company's new office as managing directors. Volk has nearly 13 years of experience in the retail market in and around the Las Vegas Strip. Previously, he served with Blatteis Realty, arranging transactions totaling in excess of $350 million.
Last year, the retail specialist expanded around three divisions: RKF Retail Brokerage Services, RKF Retail Property Advisors and RKF Strategic Retailer Services. The RKF Brokerage Services division is the firm's core brokerage services. RKF Retail Property Advisors focuses on lifestyle retail and mixed-use projects in the national arena. RKF Strategic Retailer Services, which also has a national focus assists retailers in developing and executing a strategic plan, whether that includes expanding regionally or nationally or delving into new markets.
