CHESAPEAKE, VA-JCPenney, the Plano, TX-headquartered department store chain, has found a new home in a nearly 105,300-sf space at the Greenbrier Mall, located at the intersection of I-64 and Greenbrier Parkway South. JCPenney becomes the 890,000-sf shopping center's fourth anchor joining Dillard's, Hecht's and Sears.

JCPenney's new space was formerly home to Dillard's, which created its current 160,000-sf site by combining two neighboring stores within the two-story indoor mall.

JCPenney has had a presence in the city since 1923. The Greenbrier Mall store is designed in a new layout that allows shoppers more space to peruse aisles, as well as additional shopping options such as a full-service salon. Financial terms of the lease agreement with mall owner CBL Properties have not been disclosed
