Mipim EXTRA: WTC Group Eyes Pipeline Expansion

CANNES-The World Trade Centers Association has gained access to no fewer than nine new cities in the past few days, GlobeSt.com has learned. While the WTCA waits until September for the first of these deals to close, it preps for groundbreaking on a 450,000-sf center in Russia.

CANNES-The development and licensing pipeline for World Trade Centers has just gotten a bit fatter, GlobeSt.com has learned. No fewer than nine cities around the globe–including Alamaty and Astana in Kazakhstan; Kiev; Bari, Italy; and Ho Chi Minh City–are now in talks for centers.

According to World Trade Centers Association executive vice president Robert C. DiChiara, these new centers could take the form of new developments or new licensing deals of the WTCA brand on existing sites. No deals are expected to close before September, he says.

Of course, it’s too early to discuss project size either, although DiChiara notes that no all trade centers carry the massive measurements commonly associated with the trade centers. While all are class A complexes–often the first in their locales–”there is no minimum square footage,” the EVP states.
