ANNAPOLIS, MD-Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, a new $400 million mixed-use endeavor currently being developed by Greenberg Commercial at the former site of the Parole Plaza shopping center, will become home to the second largest Whole Foods market in the country. The Austin, TX-headquartered natural and organic foods retailer will open up a new store in a 75,000-sf space at Annapolis Towne Centre in the fall of 2007, Greenberg Commercial's David Goldbloom tells GlobeSt.com.

The store will be three times the size of Whole Foods' current Annapolis locale. At 75,000 sf will be only 5,000 sf smaller than the chain's largest outlet, a recently opened 80,000-sf shop in Austin, TX.

Goldbloom declined to comment on the terms of Whole Foods' lease, and on marketing rates for the 300,000 sf of retail space that will ultimately grace Annapolis Towne Centre. The site also features office space, and residential condominiums and apartments.
