CHEVY CHASE, MD-The presence of Chipotle Mexican Grill in the Suburban Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC regions is on target to expand, and Chevy Chase, MD based real estate firm JBG Rosenfeld Retail has been chosen to spearhead the endeavor. Currently, there are 35 Chipotle restaurants in the region.

Essentially, JBGR will provide exclusive representation in all areas of real estate in the region for the Denver-based restaurant chain. JBGR's responsibilities will include the ferreting out of suitable spaces for new Chipotle restaurants; those suitable spaces will be about 2,400 sf in size and will preferably be in free-standing buildings, although space at urban storefront locations and shopping center end-cap sites are also on the menu.

JBGR executive vice president Bob Schwenger says that the chain has "very specific needs in terms of space, visibility and traffic." He anticipates that the brand name will be a draw for owners.
