SWINDON, ENGLAND-Publicly held Westfield Group and Hermes Property Asset Management Ltd have sold Brunel Centre in Swindon to for GBP$130 million (US$250 million). Brunel Centre is a two-level shopping center with 550,000 sf of retail space and planning consent for an additional 355,000 sf. The new owner is the Capital and Income Trust Group of Companies. The sale follows Westfield's acquisition of Duelguide plc, the unlisted company that acquired the formerly listed Chelsfield plc.CB Richard Ellis acted as agents for Westfield and Hermes. Westfield Group is the eighth-largest entity listed on the Australian Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of GBP$12 billion (US$23 billion) and an investment portfolio of 126 shopping centers. Hermes Property Asset Management Ltd is a UK-based independent fund manager that holds approximately GBP$4 billion in assets.
