Former Holley Carburetor Building May Get New Owner

WARREN, MI-BorgWarner appears to have a buyer lined up for its vacant office building and research facility on 18 acres Nine Mile and Hoover roads. An undisclosed company would invest $12 million to renovate the property.

WARREN, MI-A vacant office/research facility may soon be home to a corporate headquarters and hundreds of new jobs. Automotive supplier BorgWarner plans to sell the 18-acre parcel at Nine Mile and Hoover roads to an undisclosed company, city officials confirm.

The unidentified firm plans to invest $12 million, the vast majority of which would be used to renovate existing facilities and environmental cleanup, according to city records. The site also has 26 underground storage tanks.

“This is a blockbuster, a huge opportunity for the city to make this property viable again,” says George Dimas, Warren’s economic development coordinator. “It’s really going to be a shot of adrenaline in that neighborhood, that’s for certain.”
