Interstate To Manage 22-Hotel Portfolio

ARLINGTON, VA-Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been tapped to handle management activities for a 22-property hotel portfolio consisting of 5,895 upscale guestrooms in 12 states across the country and in Washington, DC. The independent hotel management concern was awarded the assignment by the portfolio owner, a partnership involving a Goldman Sachs-managed private investment fund and Highgate Holdings affiliates that recently acquired the hotels from Wyndham International Inc. as part of a $366-million deal.

Among the hotels Interstate is now charged with operating are 14 Wyndham properties, three Doubletree brands, two Hiltons, one Radisson, and the independent hotels Denver South Hotel and Houston Northwest Inn. The new ownership plans to spend $75 million on upgrades to the hotels.
