Although it is 90 miles from Chicago, Peru Logistics Park is being built 35 miles south of the Union Pacific intermodal facility in Rochelle as well as 45 miles west of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal facility in Elwood. In addition to its location, potential users could get property and sales tax abatements, as well as money for job training, according to Alter Group. Municipal electricity is at rates 20% less than Illinois Power or ComEd charges, the company adds.
